Born and raised in Orlando Florida. Derek has a bachelor’s in business administration from the University of Central Florida. In 2017 Derek enlisted in the Army Reserves and Army Corps of Engineers as a Technical Engineer (12T). As a Technical Engineer, his role was to supervise and execute construction site development with technical investigation, surveys, drafts, and construction plans/specifications. As well as use digital equipment and software to draw topographic maps and charts to prepare detailed plans for construction projects. He is also working towards his license as a General Contractor and passed his examinations. Derek has been involved and investing in real estate since 2016. A majority of his business comes from referrals, he believes in helping others and the rest takes care of itself.

José Rivera is the Disposition Manager at Home and Land Buyers, originally from Carolina, Puerto Rico, with a background in the airline industry that shaped his commitment to service and connection. A native Spanish speaker and proud member of the Central Florida community, he enjoys finding distressed properties with hidden potential and guiding them through the renovation process to help revitalize neighborhoods. José values the company’s supportive culture and mission, which align with his passion for uplifting communities one project at a time. Outside of work, he’s a travel enthusiast who loves exploring new places and cultures.
